So I see that I kept you from any update what so ever for way to long!
So here it comes:

Clarity+Money.

After we got our bank account here we finally got some more clarity about the money we receive for our scholar ships though a few things are still not totally clear the situation has improved significantly over the last few weeks. Especially when Mr. Maybe wasn't there and someone else had to take over his duties. As his female colleague was way more clear and straight forward in explaining us when we should get our money and affairs of university life nature...

Classes...

Even though I am having a great time here, I eventually still have to go to classes of course... 4 hours of Korean a day with a lot of hours worth of home work and studying, means not a lot of free time to write these kind of stories. This was also the reason you were deprived of my stories for such a long time....
The classes are great and great fun even. But somewhere last week I was almost at the point of giving up, because I didn't understand anything about the Korean language, Korean people and Korea anymore at least, it felt that way. But after a lot of more/extra studying I decided to give it one more chance as giving up my Korean classes would also mean giving up 20 Ects and that's for the ones who know 2/3rd of the study load for a undergraduate student (like me) in The Netherlands. so that's a lot. And of course I also have to shout a big thank you to my friends who helped me not to give up Korean!
Furthermore I was quite happy that we had a short week and a long weekend because it was obviously time to unwind for a second and not to think only of school!

But first we had to do this writing competition in Korean. the first thing we had to do was writing our dream, which is very difficult if you are a level 1 student and do not have the vocabulary to explain everything properly. So what do you do? Make up some total non-sense story of course.

"My dream is to change my name to Indiana Jones "
(mmm, there might actually be some truth in that one, so just call me Indi)

"My dream is to have a girlfriend that doesn't cheat on me"
(don't we all want that)

"My dream is to see North and South Korea reunited"
(Scores you a lot of points to say that so why not)

"My dream is to travel around the world with my friends "
(I thought it was a good one)

"My dream is to climb mount everest"

"My dream is that Harry Potter was real"

"My dream is that the teacher doesn't curse at me that much"

The last 3 are just some random picks from other people so you could see they also mad up a lot of non-sense.

So after this and our very (NOT) nice calligraphy test (don't get me wrong I like calligraphy but copying 2 entire pages neatly and fast ? come on...) we decided that that evening we would go to Seoul for Clubbing :-)

Clubbing in Seoul

So here we were after our gruesome travel to and trough Seoul, because someones friends decided we should take the long way around, which took us more than 2 hours of course. For a stretch which could have been done in about 80 minutes! We were finally there Hongdea where we went to the clubs Harlem and NB2. Koreans are totally crazy when it comes to clubbing. Everyone dances, I repeat Everyone! Dances! There is no standing still against the wall or not going with the flow. You either go with the flow or get the *bliep* out of the club. And of course it was crowded very crowded, which as some of you might know I do not like at all, a lot of people in a small space. but this was only the first club and it was still quite okay I could still move around a little bit so no worries there. Then we decided to go to the club next to it to try this one out as well!
(the way it works here, you pay once €10 and you'll get access to 3 clubs and 1 free drink ;-))
So after this we went to the NB2 Club which was Packed... like sardines in a can I thought, until I saw the basement floor which was packed, like crushed sardines in a overly tight can which was then squeezed with both hands.....
The music by the way is very repetitive in nature and therefore after one night of clubbing you'll remember everything (nice not nice, that's for you to decide). Further more what struck me the most was that like 70% of all people in the club were guys and only 30% girls. In my personal opinion ;-) this should be the other way around.

After we left the club, we went to Hongdea Park, but not before encountering a guy that was tied up to a pole with his own sweater, Korean Humor? Well, in stead of untying the guy, the group decided to take pictures first... we're such nice guys AND girls when it comes to it. So, we went to Hongdea park, or some of us did because we split up because the others wanted to see the other club and I didn't because it was enough people on one evening for me. So we drank some beer/soju/meakkoli and then the others eventually returned and we had already made new friends so no problems there. After standing there for a while and realizing the first subway ran only at 5:30 we still decided to buy a bottle of Meakkoli from the "crazy Meakkoli guy". So called because, well you just should have been there...
After that and encountering some very drunk Americans, who I had told I was from Congo and I had such a hard time there because I was white ...it was already time to go and walk to the Subway and go home to the dorms while the sun already came up!

!
So after having rested for a day and not doing much of course as we got to campus at 7:30. We decided yesterday that it was a good day for a hike trough the woods here and see the sunset from the top of a hill and so we did. It was quite an okay hike but the hills that's what's getting to you if you walk to fast like we did in the first 20 minutes. so after we were up the whole hill in perhaps 1 hour and 20 or so minutes we arrived at this Massive but really Massive graveyard, which had a great view and so we decided to watch the sunset from there. By the way the graveyards here are 20 times less scary then the ones we have in Europe, just because here everything is very organized and well kept. So we had one cup of soju (just because we reached the top) and then we watched the sun go down and talked some. And before we knew it it was already time to head back trough the dark woods. Luckily I had bought a cheap flashlight so we had some light on our way back down the hill in the dark.........

Ps: if you would like to leave a comment/small message to me or say hi! please do so, just a little bit under the article, I would appreciate it!
